California law allows voters a 30-day period to request the removal of their signature.
The Secretary of State announced on Wednesday that only 43 people chose to withdraw their signatures from the recall petition.
The remaining 1.7 million or more verified signatures are still sufficient to trigger a call election.
This begins the next phase of the recall process.
The state finance department estimates the cost of the recall. Also, decide whether to hold it as a special election or as part of the next regular election.
Fees must be submitted by August 5th. Then there is a 30 day period for reviews and comments.
