Hospitalizations across the state continue to decline, dropping 47.9% on Monday, February 8 from the record high of 22,853 on January 6.

According to the end-of-day total from the California Public Health website, Monday hospitalizations were 181 less than the previous day, and the total number of hospitalizations was reduced to 11,904.

According to the California Public Health website, the California community reported 16,415 new cases of coronavirus on Monday, bringing the total number of cases to 3,410,992.

An average of 15,596 new cases per day for 14 days decreased by 63.3% from the January 1 high of 42,468.

A total of 44,483 people died from the virus in California, with 356 new deaths reported on Monday.
