Ottawa-Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appeared to be heading for three consecutive election wins on Monday night, but the magnitude of the win was unknown as authorities continued to count votes.
Both Canada’s CTV Network and Canadian Broadcasting Corp. predicted a Liberal Party victory, but it was not yet known whether it was a minority or majority government. Preliminary results from the Canadian Election Commission at around 10:30 pm show that the Liberal Party was at the top of 141 constituencies, while the Conservatives were 100. To win a majority in Parliament of Canada, the Liberal Party needs 170 seats.
