Carissa Moore wins fifth World Surfing League title – Honolulu, Hawaii

Carissa Moore of Honolulu won the WSL Rip Curl Final in San Clemente, California and won the World Surf League Championship for the fifth time today.

Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Moore defeated Brazil’s Tatiana Weston Webb in the final with a score of 16.60 to 14.20.

Moore scored 8.00 on the first wave and closed it with 8.60 on the second wave.

Weston-Wobb hung tight at 8.03 on the first wave, but scored only 6.13 on the second best wave.

Punahou’s alum, Moore, also won world titles in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2019.

On the men’s side, Brazil’s Gabrieu Medina defeated Felipetredo to win the title.
