Corpus Christi, Texas — Corpus Christi police officers may seem a bit more careless in the coming weeks, but their hairy appearance is a good reason.
The agency announced in November that it would participate in the “No Shave November” for cancer control groups.
A $ 50 donation to the Corpus Christi Police Officers Association will allow police officers to grow beards to help raise awareness of cancer. The association then donates the collected funds to cancer control organizations.
Female officers in the department were allowed to wear pink on their hair in October to raise awareness of breast cancer and will continue to wear pink in November due to the cause.
