Central Unified superintendent Andrew Alvarado on paid administrative leave after arrest on domestic violence charges – Fresno, California

Fresno, Calif. (KFSN)-The principal of the Central Unified School District was ordered to take paid leave the day after confirming that Fresno police had been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence.

Andrew Alvarado was imprisoned in Fresno County Jail last Thursday night for a felony of corporal punishment of his spouse.

Police said Alvarado answered a call claiming to have pushed the caller and threw an object.

On Tuesday night, the Central Unified Board of Directors held a private meeting and decided to give Alvarado paid administrative leave.

The board is about to begin the investigation.
