Washington DC (CBS46) —The US Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Historically Black Colleges, Universities (HBCUs), and other minority service agencies to promote diversity across all levels of business.
Through next-generation business partnerships, students have the opportunity to learn about entrepreneurship and business from leading scholars, business leaders and trade associations, gain insights and experience new career opportunities.
Next-generation business partnerships are a wide range of chambers of commerce to support the growing needs of businesses by focusing on workforce and talent pipeline development, supplier diversity, entrepreneurship, public policy and advocacy. It is part of the effort.
The partnership includes four core programs to provide students with exclusive professional development opportunities. One of the components of the partnership is the opportunity for college students to work in different departments of the US Chamber of Commerce based on their interests and majors.
This year, the US Chamber of Commerce selected students from Clark Atlanta University to join the next-generation business partnership. One of those students is Miracle Huntsman in Los Angeles, California, who is studying political science at Clark Atlanta University.
Huntsman emphasized the knowledge and skills he learned through his internship:
“My main responsibility was to work with the Chamber of Commerce’s Corporate Citizenship Center to attend meetings with many different departments, not just internships. I would like to comment on and plan for summits and events. I love being able to do it. Working with the Chamber of Commerce has made me a better researcher, as I often track important information added to the Chamber of Commerce website. I am forever grateful to those who have done so and can’t wait to build more networks in the future. “
Through networking, skill building, and providing a platform for unforgettable experiences, next-generation internships have provided students with valuable opportunities.
Other components of the Next Generation Business Partnership include a series of executive speakers for students to learn about key issues ranging from public policy and government to management and leadership. Entrepreneurship development program. Convene entrepreneurial leaders to develop national strategies to support entrepreneurship in diverse communities. And faculty research.
The US Chamber of Commerce is the largest corporate organization in the world, representing the interests of more than 3 million companies of different sizes, sectors and regions. Members of the Chamber of Commerce range from small local moms and pop shops to major trade associations and large corporations. Companies likewise rely on the US Chamber of Commerce for their advocacy in Washington, DC.
