(((WEHT) – Earlier this week, the CDC announced that it was due to the whole fresh onion. Outbreak of Salmonella It has been distributed by ProSource Inc, dating back to 37 states across the United States.
The company imported onions from Chihuahua, Mexico and distributed them to restaurants and grocery stores across the United States. According to ProSource, the potentially contaminated onions were last imported on August 27, but may still be on the shelves due to the long shelf life of the vegetables.
Currently, two recalls for onions have been announced. The FDA is urging people to throw away onions from HelloFresh and EveryPlate received between July 7th and September 8th.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is still investigating the nationwide outbreak of salmonella associated with onions from Mexico. More than 600 people reportedly became ill. No one is dead.
