Chelsea, Massachusetts 2020-09-14 12:37:31 –

The Chelsea Police Department welcomed six-year-old Colin Beattie of Beverly this morning.  The drop in today is part of young Colin’s effort to visit as many police departments in the area as he can. His mother Amanda, told officers he just recently completed visiting all 35 police jurisdictions in Essex County. Today was his first in Suffolk County with hopes to visit Boston, Revere, and Winthrop police departments soon.

Amanda Beattie said that her son has been visiting area police stations since June.  Colin came up with the idea after sitting and playing in his toy police cruiser in his home town of Beverly, where officers frequently visited him. Those visits prompted his admiration for police and to begin his  ongoing tour of area departments  The CPD was proud to make Colin’s list.

Today, Colin was greeted by many Chelsea officers who thanked the youngster for his support. Colin’s visit ended with a treat from the department’s Ice cream truck.   The Six year old was given a few Chelsea Police souvenirs personally from Chief Brian Kyes, who thanked him for the surprise visit.
