Lexington, Kentucky (LEX 18) — A group of friends are using their artistic skills to spread love throughout the community.
As part of CHI St. Joseph Health’s “Chalk It to Humanity” initiative, several people gathered around his friend April’s house on Sunday to decorate her driveway.
Breast cancer was diagnosed 7.5 years ago in April and is still being treated. Her friend says April is one of the most real people they have met and she is always interested in all of art and nature.
CHI St. Joseph Health’s Friendly Art Campaign began in-house as a way for employees and their families to share images and kind words, especially during the ongoing pandemic and great stress.
However, as chalk art has become a very popular outlet in the pandemic, CHI St. Joseph Health is calling on members of the community to join the initiative.
Participants select selected canvases, such as sidewalks, driveways, and asphalt surfaces, to sketch uplifting messages and soothing images of what “humanity” means to them.
Participants can submit or follow the entry on the CHI St. Joseph Health Facebook page under the tab titled “Chalk to Humanity”. Link..
The campaign runs from September 7th to October. Four and three winners are selected each week.
