Morris Brown College has partnered with Chick-fil-A. The company promises to give college a $ 500,000 gift to train student leaders. Through this award, students participate in a leadership development program aimed at preparing for a career in hospitality and organizational leadership.
According to the release, the two-year program teaches participants to learn more about themselves, their colleagues, and the business in general before applying their knowledge to leadership positions.
Dr. Kevin James, President of Morris Brown College, said: “I look forward to Morris Brown becoming a direct pipeline of diverse leaders in the career areas of organizational hospitality and organizational leadership like Chick-fil-A. My goal is for Morris Brown to be black and brown. To become one of the country’s top institutions for people to learn how to own, operate, teach and manage restaurants and hotels. “
The partnership with Chick-fil-A will be the only historically black college in the country, following Morris Brown, with both a national hotel chain and a hospitality management training program on its campus. A 150-key hotel will be built in Morris Brown, providing two dining options, an outdoor terrace and educational space for school hospitality students.
“One of our goals is to help all students reach their full potential,” says Chick-fil-A, Inc. Rodney Bullard, Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility, said. Chick-fil-A offers scholarships, educational programs, grants and more to students across the country. We will work with Morris Brown to teach financial literacy, entrepreneurship, leadership, and other skills that are invaluable in the workplace. Chick-fil-A is proud to support Morris Brown College and their mission to develop and develop diverse future leaders. “
