Sunset Hills, Missouri (KMOV.com)-A man was charged with driving and colliding at four times the speed limit and killing a boy at Sunset Hills.

A 32-year-old Christopher Townsend was driving 87 mph in the 20 mph zone on Stonywood Road on Sunday afternoon, officials at the Sunset Hills Police Department said. According to police, Townsend hit a rock and the car fell and landed on the roof. There were three children in the car.



Kerin Herbert was killed when Christopher Townsend crashed his car and reached four times the speed limit of Sunset Hills.


The crash killed a boy named Kerin Herbert. He was 10 years old. Two other children were injured.

Townsend was charged with endangering the welfare of children, causing death, injury and serious risk. He was also charged with leaving the scene. He is detained on a $ 100,000 bond.
