According to a CHP news release, California Highway Patrol officials reported that a man was killed in a car-to-car shooting on Thursday night.

Officers discovered that at 6:33 pm on Highway 58, east of Union Avenue, a driver was sentenced to a gunshot wound and died on the scene in response to a car accident.

All eastward lanes on Highway 58 between Highway 99 and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard were closed for approximately 6 hours during an officer investigation.

At this time, CHP officers have not explicitly identified the suspect. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a silvery or tan compact sedan that was last seen heading east on Highway 58 before leaving MLK Boulevard and heading in an unknown direction.
