CHP: One killed in crash on Kimberlina Road | News – Bakersfield, California

California Highway Patrol officials reported that a man was killed on Friday morning after the SUV he was driving collided with a large rig.

The CHP reports that the red 2004 Ford Explorer heading east on Kimberrina Road, east of Highway 43, turned westward at around 5:57 am for unknown reasons.

The Explorer collided with a large rig heading west, but attempts to avoid the SUV failed.

As a result of the crash, the truck overturned and burst one of the fuel tanks and cargo tanks, spilling an unknown amount of diesel fuel on his shoulders.

The Ford driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was fatally injured. He was sentenced to death at Khan Medical. The Kentworth driver was slightly injured and refused to be taken to the hospital.

It is unknown whether alcohol and drugs were the cause of this crash. The identity of the SUV driver has not yet been announced.
