Christmas-themed events in Central California: List of parades, fairs, trees and light shows being held around the Valley – Fresno, California

Fresno, CA (KFSN)-The Greatest Time of the Year in Central California-Holidays and Unity, Gifts and Christmas Lights, Family and Festive Times.

Throughout the valley, organizers are preparing to bring the community together for the event, from parades to light shows to winter wonderlands.

Gather family and friends to access these events during this holiday season.

November 29 (Monday)

VISALIA CANDY CANE LANE PARADE
6:30 pm, downtown Visalia

The beloved Christmas parade in the South Valley is celebrating its 75th year. Community floats and marching bands fill the streets of downtown Visalia for the Candy Cane Lane parade. Last year, authorities canceled the parade due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wednesday, December 1st

Fresno Christmas Tree Lane Opens
6 pm, Vannes and Shields Avenue

Fresno’s Christmas tree lane is a tradition that dates back 99 years. Every December, Fig Garden’s North Vannes Boulevard is a one-way street lined with hundreds of trees and homes, all decorated for the holidays. Visitors can drive a two-mile section from the shield to the show until Christmas Day. There are no walking nights this year.

Sanger tree lighting
6:30 pm, downtown Sanger

In addition to lighting, events include Carols, Christmas messages, Illuminated Hour Sanger Home Contests, and the arrival of Santa Claus. Light meals are also provided.

Thursday and Friday, December 2-3

Reedley’s Christmas in the park
5 pm to 8 pm, Pioneer Park, Reedley

The Reedley Chamber of Commerce will host this event. The event will feature train and pony rides, a tree lighting ceremony at 6:15 pm, a photo with Santa, and a parade of electric farm equipment on Friday.

Thursday, December 2

Madera Christmas Light Parade
6-7: 30 pm, downtown Madera

The Madera Downtown Association and Madelivening Lions Clubs will host the 28th Candlelight Christmas Parade. In this parade, illuminated vehicles will travel on Yosemite Avenue between A and E Streets.

TULARE CHILDRENS CHRISTMAS PARADE
6 pm, downtown Turea

This year’s theme is the plancer’s slumber party. Everyone can wear their pajamas and see the floats on K Street, M Street and Tulare Avenue. You can also add your own float!

Corco Ranklist Mass Parade
Downtown Corcoran at 6:30 pm

Corcoran’s Christmas tree lighting and parades include parades, tree lighting, food, crafts, information booths, and a visit with Santa in the gazebo.

Friday, December 3

Big Fresno Fair Holiday Fantasy of Light-Opening
From 5 pm to 9 pm, Fresno Fairgrounds

Fresno Fairgrounds is once again transformed into a magical winter wonderland for the resurgence of the Big Fresno Fair Holiday Fantasy of Light Show! Participants will drive through the trade fair and enjoy more than 450 holiday light displays while listening to Christmas music and enjoying treats from local food trucks. In this year’s new work, there are two special walk nights.

ZOOLIGHTS-Opening
Fresno Chaffee Zoo from 5 pm to 8 pm

Due to this annual community tradition, the entire zoo has been transformed into a magical winter wonderland, fully decorated and adorned with miles of holiday lights! Enjoy live entertainment, festive treats and drinks for adults and children, free holographic glasses every time you buy a ticket (finished as soon as it’s out of stock), and free photos with Santa Claus.

The event includes craft and food vendors, and a Christmas parade.

Saturday, December 4th

Merced Christmas Street Lane
5 pm-8: 30 pm, Main Street, Downtown Merced

This is the second year that the city of Merced will hold the “Reverse Christmas Parade”. The parade is lined with floats, vehicles and performers, and visitors drive through.

Children’s Christmas Parade in Porterville
From Morton to Walnut Avenue in Porterville at 10am

This year’s theme is the main street miracle. Audiences are encouraged to maintain social distance. Events will also be livestreamed.

Chauchira Christmas tree lighting
5:30 pm, Chowchilla Veterans Memorial Park

The event is hosted by the Chauchira Lions Club and features music, Christmas tree lighting and Santa Claus.

Children’s electric Christmas parade
6:30 pm, Old Town Clovis

Thousands of local children, adults, animals and floats are featured in the parade, all wrapped in a snowstorm.

Christmas on Merced Street
Downtown Fowler from 4 pm to 6 pm

The event includes free train rides, shopping, wooden lighting, and photos with Santa. Special guest CSU President Saul Jimenez-Sandoval is honored to shed some light on this year’s Christmas tree. Residents are invited to help decorate the wood with custom decorations.

Downtown Sanger from 11am to 5pm

The 73rd National Christmas Tree City Toyland Parade will showcase grocery stores, arts and crafts, and children’s activities.

Saturday, December 11

Jingle Berlan
9am, Christmas Tree Lane, Vannes Boulevard, Fresno

At the annual 10th Jingle Bell Run for Toys for Tots, all registered participants will be presented with Christmas-themed sweatshirts and jingle bells. The hope is to bring new unwrapped toys to each runner and walker, in which they will be awarded a Santa hat. Runners can choose between a 5K run, a 2-mile walk, or a virtual Jingle Bell Run.

Downtown Fresno Christmas Parade
1:00 pm, downtown Fresno, Fulton Street

Enjoy costumes, marching bands and floats at the 92nd Christmas Parade. After the parade is over, all participants will be welcomed to Mariposa Plaza for ceremonial tree lighting. Wood lighting includes food and craft vendors.

MOUNTAIN ARTISANS CHRISTMAS FAIRE
10 am-3pm, Fresno Flats Historic Village and Park in Oakhurst

This year’s Mountain Artisan Christmas Fair in Fresno Flats will feature a visit to Santa and his elf, a classic Christmas tail reading in a historic building, a lunch by Samurai Matsumoto Kitchen, and children’s crafts.

Living nature
Marks & Mount Whitney, Riverdale

The Riverdale Assemblies of God continues the Christmas tradition of creating a living nativity over 20 years ago. Visitors can drive five acres of living animals and characters from the Nativity story, from the streets of Bethlehem to the shepherds of the fields, Mary and Joseph, and the stables with the baby Jesus.
