Conway, South Carolina (WBTW) — A local Christmas tree farm has recorded record sales during a busy Thanksgiving weekend.
“Black Friday was a record break for us. We’ve never been so busy on Black Friday,” said Lauren Booth, co-owner of the booth’s Christmas tree farm.
It’s a tradition for many, and it’s happening earlier than expected this year. Hundreds of Christmas trees are running fast. Some of the booth’s Christmas tree farms were sold out due to record sales on holiday weekends.
“People want to get them fast,” Booth said. “Basically, the store opened on the 20th, and a lot of people came that day and the next day. A lot of people came last week.”
She said the word lack of Christmas trees seems to be the reason they are seeing more families earlier than in the last few years. And since the popular Fraser fir doesn’t grow in South Carolina, fewer people sell it. This will attract more customers to the farm.
“Fortunately, we got the same amount and about 150 as last year, but apparently we had to get another 500,” Booth said.
She said they might have to sell out sooner and close earlier than expected if they continue to see an increase in customers at this early stage.
“We’ve sold a lot of trees in the last two days, and I think we’ll be a little busy this afternoon,” Booth said. “”[We’ll] Probably sold out next weekend, by the end of the next weekend. I think we have to close the store early. “
She used Facebook to let her customers know that if she was looking for a tall 8-9 foot tree, it was almost sold out. She said they still have a good choice of 6 to 7 feet to choose from so far.
