City council outlines new street maintenance funds – Riverside, California

Corpus Christi, Texas — The city council budget for fiscal year 2022 includes $ 122 million for road maintenance. This is 60% more than this year.

This money will be used not only to rebuild roads throughout our city, but also to repair roads that are not in the best possible condition. Locals say this money is important because of the damage the roads caused their cars.

The city council also announced $ 2 million for a new in-house road maintenance worker. This will be the city’s third crew member.

City manager Peter Zanoni said the new street crew will start as early as October and will have 12 members. He also said the city would still need help from the private sector for street rehabilitation, but this extra in-house crew would make a big difference.

He says city councilors often receive complaints about roads and too many constructions.

They hope that these funds will address these issues for the city’s inhabitants.
