Las Vegas (KTNV) — The Clark County Commission unanimously voted in favor of employee mask mandates at an emergency meeting today in response to the growing number of COVID-19 cases in the county.
The meeting began with passionate petitions from community members on both sides of the debate, followed by testimony from the South Nevada Health District.
After the commissioner asked the representatives of SNHD, they discussed the options available to them before voting for the motion raised by commissioner Jim Gibson.
The motion stated that all employers in Clark County must require employees to wear masks when in public spaces in the building. People in closed offices and cubicles do not need to wear a mask when they are in a closed area, but they do need to wear a mask when they are in a public space.
This new mission will take effect on 21 July at 11:59 pm and will continue until 17 August, when the Commissioners will meet again.
