Council Bluffs, Iowa. (KMTV) — Local and out-of-state officers were in Council Bluffs for the K9 Medic class on Thursday.

This opportunity, led by Iron Dog K9 International, is an opportunity to train officers in a variety of scenarios they may face, such as what to do if K9 is seriously injured in the job.

“They are actually placed in scenarios where they have to take care of their dogs in situations like field injuries such as heat stroke, gunshot wounds, puncture wounds, etc. They are placed in these. The type of scenario that will be prepared when it happens in the real world, “said Mitzi Nash of Iron Dog K9 International.

Missouri law enforcement and border guards were also in class on Thursday.
