Cleveland, Ohio (WJW) – Cleveland Hopkins International Airport You may experience the busiest travel week ever at this Thanksgiving.

People lined up at the airport on Wednesday to visit friends and family.

Cleveland Hopkins says the busiest year to date is 2019 and we’re meeting more people this year.

“Our forecasts are above the level of 2019, which was a record year for us,” said Robert Kennedy, Cleveland Airport Director, this week.

The TSA states that it has staff to meet the demand at Cleveland’s checkpoints.

On Wednesday, it was tracked in wait time.

The average waiting time for TSA is about 17 minutes on Wednesday morning, which is considered to be better than average.

Of course, last year the coronavirus pandemic reduced travel across the country.

This year, TSA will screen about 20 million people during the holiday week.

Keep in mind that the busiest day on TSA’s record was the day after Thanksgiving in 2019, so if you’re traveling.

For domestic flights, airlines are advised to arrive at the airport two hours early.
