Samantha Refab I walked home every day from her office in downtown Denver. For that 20 minutes, a 31-year-old content marketer wasn’t available via email. In many cases, she wore headphones and pulled up music and podcasts so she didn’t have to worry about deadlines.

However, when the pandemic broke out, Mr. Refave’s “commute” shrank to the distance between her home office and the sofa. Looking for stress relief options, she streams one or two “survivor” episodes when she’s done. “Television has signaled that it’s time to relax,” she said, adding that she wouldn’t even walk the dog until the tribal council voted.
