Hubbard, Ohio (WJW) — Six years have passed 26-year-old Cody Pitts Shot down in his hometown Hubbard And his family says they are still waiting for justice.

“There is still some hope,” said Cody’s brother Tony. “It’s getting harder and harder for us without closing.”

Cody Pitts, who graduated from Hubbard High School in 2007, was walking from a nearby bar to a friend’s house when he was shot in the head on March 7, 2015. No arrests have been made. His body was found at Orchard Avenue.

Hubbard is about 60 miles east of Cleveland.

“It was a really cold night,” said Robert Thompson Jr., Chief of the Hubbard Police Department. “The whole department answered the phone.”

The family says they don’t think Cody was involved in the fight at the bar. His family and friends say that no one knows why he wanted to kill him.

“He loved sports, he loved his friends, and he was a really nice guy,” said Tony Pitts.

“We are always talking about this case,” Thompson said. “It is unbelievable that families are experiencing and we hope they can bring justice to them soon.”

Trumbull County prosecutor Dennis Watkins says he understands family frustration and heartache. He emphasized that authorities would not stop looking for Cody’s murderer.

“In Trumbull County, the problem may not be resolved for 30 years before it is resolved,” Watkins said. “Some things take time, but I never give up.”
