Oklahoma County, Oklahoma (KFOR) – A vote by the Oklahoma County Secretary eliminates the need for visitors to buildings in Oklahoma County to wear masks.
On Wednesday morning, the Oklahoma County Commission was considering ending a mask mandate for county assets.
Prior to the vote, a representative of the Oklahoma City County Health Department spoke to the Commissioner about the dangers of quickly lifting restrictions, especially with respect to the new COVID-19 variant that is prevalent in the community.
Despite these concerns, the commissioner voted 2-1 to end the Maskman date at the county building.
Commissioner Carrie Blumart was the only member to vote to maintain mandate.
County judges are allowed to require masks in individual courts, even if they choose.
