Community event, 'The Least of Us' discusses dealing with opioid impact in New Mexico – Albuquerque, New Mexico

Albuquerque, New Mexico (KRQE) – New Mexico has had a share of the drug problem for years, but this doesn’t have to be a permanent reality. Author Sam Quinons and Damon Martinez, senior adviser to the city of Albuquerque, discuss what is being done to bring about drug problems and change in the state.

“The Least of Us: True Tales of American and Hope in the Time of Fentanyl and Meth” highlights the story of the opioid epidemic in the United States and covers the spread of synthetic drugs.This book also delves into the neuroscience of addiction

NS Free community event Held to discuss best practices for dealing with fentanyl and methamphetamine in New Mexico. The event will take place on Monday, December 6th, from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Berna Facio Professional Development Center.

Light meals are provided and local resources are provided to answer questions. There will also be a VIP hour, a book signature with Sam Quinnons, and a Q & A session.
