Cotton Post Monday Strength | Nasdaq

The cotton market showed some recovery from the decline from February's highs, with contract prices rising 29 to 140 points on Monday.

The U.S. cotton crop was 11% planted as of April 21, according to this afternoon's NASS crop progress report. This matches both the past five-year average and last year's pace.

ICE certified cotton inventory increased by an additional 527 bales on April 19 to 176,610 bales. On April 19th, the Cotlook A index fell a further 80 points to 86.55 cents/lb. AWP fell another 325 points yesterday to 62.18 and remains strong this week through Thursday.

May 24 Cotton It rose 135 points to close at 80.04.

July 24 Cotton It rose 140 points to close at 82.42.

December 24 Cotton It closed at 78.49, up 94 points.
