The CEO of online mortgage company Better.com said they were being released to 900 employees reported on Zoom’s phone.
“If you’re on this phone, you’re part of an unlucky group that’s been fired,” Better.com CEO Vishal Garg said on the phone. “Your employment here is over and will take effect soon.”
Garg said employees are entitled to a four-week severance pay and a one-month full benefit, in addition to a longer coverage option.
Garg said Better.com needs to remain “agile” and blamed the evolving housing market for layoffs.
However, Fortune Report Garg wrote a blog post stating that the dismissed workers “stolen” from colleagues and customers because they were unproductive.
Better.com is reportedly $ 750 million Cash injection from investors in November. According to TechCrunch, the company was planning to spend $ 1 billion on its balance sheet in December.
