For Jordan Pride, nothing is better than making music with others. Feeling the energy that music produces and experiencing that energy flowing through others is the way he finds inspiration.

“Music is a universal language that everyone speaks,” Pride said. “It’s the only thing on the planet that connects everyone, regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation.”

In music, Pride found a paradise that expressed his feelings and invited healing. He said that sharing and creating music with other choir members who care deeply about each other stimulates moments of pure joy that enliven their passion.

“I have a very different world experience when making music with others,” explained Pride. “Experiencing it many times and feeling joy and love in the room is unique.”

Pulido joined the concert choir in 2016, at the same time Dr. Cari Earnhart began conducting the ensemble. Because of this, Pride said he experienced the growth and connection of the ensemble “from the beginning.” He acknowledges Earnhart for giving him additional push to grow the ensemble and make it bold, innovative and determined.

Passion and energy have made the Fresno State Concert Choir recognized as one of the top states. The choir California Jeonju Music Education Conference.. The choir’s director, Earnhardt, said Fresno State University is one of two universities in the state. To achieve that, they had to go through a rigorous selection process, including recordings arbitrated by the panel in Blind Audition. The conference will be held at the Fresno Convention Center from February 17th to 20th.

“I’m excited to be able to play on such a large scale,” Pride said, adding that the choir’s efforts have been rewarded.

Prior to the conference, the Concert Choir will hold two public concerts.
