Concourse E at McCarran International Airport to reopen after 480 days – Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas, Nevada 2021-07-23 22:09:04 –

Las Vegas (KLAS) — The Terminal 3 section of McCarran International Airport has stood quiet and dark for over a year, but is now preparing to return on Saturday to welcome passengers.

The first arrival of Concourse E in 480 days will arrive in just over 12 hours. Airport officials said the trip was recovering and it was time to reopen the gate.

Chris Jones, Chief Marketing Officer of The Macallan, said:

Due to the low interest in travel in the early stages of the pandemic, the airport decided to move travelers to Concourse D.

“For cost-effectiveness, dependable people, cleaners, and airlines, it makes sense to shrink a bit,” Jones told 8 NewsNow.

But now, as travel gains momentum, airport officials say that every aspect of the E-concourse is doing everything it can to make sure it’s better to go before you board.

“Some people may have the idea of turning the lights back on and opening the door,” Jones explains. “We are checking the outlet and wiping the surface.”

Foot traffic from Flight 15 passes through the Jet Bridge in Concourse E, and the store is pleased to make up for the loss after turning off their lights for a long time.

“Our store was completely empty because it’s been over a year since it closed,” said Carly Martinez, manager of Vegas Special Tees. “We are excited; everything is full again and ready to sell.”

Frontier Airlines and Alaska Airlines are currently in and out of the concourse.

First flight arrives at 6am
