Nashville, Tennessee (WTVF / AP) — Conservative talk radio host Phil Valentine remains hospitalized in the fight against COVID-19. According to a tweet from SuperTalk 99.7 WTN, he was “with great care” into the ventilator earlier this week.

His brother, Mark Valentine, shared the latest information on his condition on Friday and said he needed to be placed on an ECMO machine. ECMO stands for Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation It is said to be similar to the cardiopulmonary bypass device used in open heart surgery.

“Phil revealed the night [sic]..He needs to attend EKMO [sic] A machine that is the lung part of a heart / lung machine. We are going to take him to the hospital by helicopter with the equipment. The protocol requires him to be able to lie on his back for a few hours, but I didn’t think he could … but he did! We are currently checking bed availability and whether he is a transportation candidate. It’s not over, “written Mark Valentine.

Last week, Mark Valentine spoke in detail about his brother’s condition at WWTN-FM, saying he regrets not being a vaccination advocate.

Phil Valentine has been broadcasting an afternoon talk radio show at the station for years. He previously advised listeners to be vaccinated only if they thought they were more likely to die of COVID-19.

On July 11th, Valentine confirmed on his Facebook page that he had been diagnosed with the virus.
