It was a hot start until September. Yesterday, when it reached 97 degrees at D.IA, it hit a record high. The previous record was 93 degrees.
As the cold front moves to Colorado, it will be cooler on Sunday afternoons and high pressures will be in the mid-1980s.
Cool temperatures are also expected across the mountains, with maximum temperatures in the late 70’s and late 80’s. Thunderstorms can be scattered in the highlands and plains this afternoon, causing gusts and thunder.
Temperatures remain in the 80’s during the beginning of the week. After that, a stronger cold front emerged, with rain on Tuesday and warmer temperatures in the mid-1970s.
