According to the National Meteorological Service of Boulder, a storm moving from south to north, centered on the east of Interstate Highway 25, has caused heavy rains, heavy hail and lightning on Tuesday afternoon.

The Meteorological Bureau warned people to be aware of the weather before going out.

According to the Meteorological Department, the counties in southeastern Elbert and central Lincoln were issued heavy thunderstorm warnings with ping-pong-sized hail and gusts of 60 mph until 3:30 pm.

“Immediately prepare for large hail and deadly cloud-to-ground lightning,” said the Meteorological Department. “Look for shelter in a well-built structure. Keep away from windows.

Meteorologists predicted damage to roofs, siding, vehicles and trees and warned that outdoor people and animals would be injured.

The National Meteorological Service has warned that a hail on the road can be a smooth and dangerous trip.
