Arizona has been one of the highest Covid-19 infection rates in the country for weeks. Conservative estimates suggest that about 1 in 10 Arizona people are currently infected with the virus. Cases, hospitalizations and deaths in our state continue to grow. This week, the total number of Covid-19 deaths in Arizona exceeded 10,000. Our reproductive rate remains above 1.0. This means that the virus is spreading faster than necessary. Hospitals in the state are under great pressure as they continue to expand capacity and adjust operations to accommodate far greater patient volumes and vision. Currently, 58% of Arizona beds are occupied by Covid-19 patients.
