According to Dr. Phillips, another patient complained of COVID-19 symptoms, but his test results were meaningless compared to what he had seen so far.

Corpus Christie, Texas — The director of a local laboratory testing COVID-19 said she came across a strain of the virus that was different from what she had seen before.

Dr. Megan Phillips, Lab Operations Director at Premier Health Texas, holds a PhD in biochemistry. Phillips oversees the company’s independent ER lab and works at the premier Staples Street location in the old Whataburger headquarters building.

During the pandemic, Phillips said she and her colleagues encountered all sorts of anomalous test problems and results that forced her to look for more answers.

“Recently, there were a few cases of two patients who were walking and talking like COVID but couldn’t. There were no positive tests for COVID. It’s ours. It was like breaking my head, “said Phillips.

According to Phillips, another patient complained of COVID-19 symptoms, but his test results were meaningless compared to what he had seen so far.

“My intestine was suspected of being a potential variant, based on either clinical symptoms or abnormal experimental results,” said Phillips. “There is some other information that may help move this area forward.”

Phillips said he immediately sent the sample to Dr. Benjamin Neumann of Texas A & M University. Neuman is the lead virologist at the University Global Health Research Complex.

Neuman has been studying coronavirus since 1996.

“We sent one of us,” said Phillips. “I actually contacted him, and it was an interesting case where it looked like a long and weird COVID type face. It was completely different from what we all saw. bottom.”

Phillips said patients with abnormal test results still seem to be on track, according to his family.

Phillips hopes Dr. Neuman can give her an answer, and the man’s family also describes what COVID-19 strain he actually had.
