Peter Zanoni, manager of the city of Corpus Christi, currently earns an annual salary of $ 330,750.

The city council gave him a 5% salary increase of $ 15,750 after his annual assessment was done two weeks ago.

“He brought a level of professionalism that wasn’t available in Corpus Christi and won 5% of it,” said District 5 Councilor Gil Hernandez. “We’ve gone really far in the last two years. There’s still a long way to go … but I think we’re heading in the right direction.”

“I think he did a very good job.”

According to Hernandez, Zanoni’s salary is within the market created by managers of cities as large as Corpus Christi.

Corpus Christi City Manager Peter Zanoni talks about his first year in office on Thursday, October 11, 2020.

“I want to make sure I’m compensating him at the market level so that other places don’t look attractive,” the councilor said. “We don’t want to overpay, but we don’t want to underpay, so it’s not only as a reward for his achievements, but also in line with the market of talented city managers.”

Zanoni started in the spring of 2019 with an annual salary of $ 300,000. According to his contract, after a year it automatically increased by 5% to $ 315,000.
