Corpus Christi, Texas – At today’s business conference, Corpus Christi City Council approved a $ 448,725.00 agreement with Pfeiffer & Son, LTD to remove the decorative lighting system at the Harbor Bridge.
In December, the city council approved the company to inspect the structure of the lighting system. The company noticed that the structure of the lighting system was corroded and needed to be removed.
Decorative lights were installed in 2010. It was designed to last only 5 years, but has been in use for over 10 years. The lighting system has reached the end of its life in almost 6 years.
Funding for the removal is equivalent to approximately $ 150,000 each from the City’s General Fund with physical service contracts from Corpus Christi Port and the Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT).
The removal project is expected to take about 10 weeks.
