A 100-year-old man will be tried in Germany for serving as a Nazi SS guard in a concentration camp in Berlin during World War II.

AP reported that between 1942 and 1945, the man was suspected of working in the Sachsenhausen Confinement Camp as an enlisted member of the Nazi paramilitary organization.
According to AP, between 1936 and 1945, the Nazis held more than 200,000 people in camps.
The number of people who died in the camps varies, but scholars believe that 40,000 to 50,000 people died.
A medical evaluation of the suspect was conducted to confirm that the suspect was able to withstand the trial.
The trial is scheduled to begin in October.
