Los Angeles-Want to have a drink at your local drinking fountain? At some bars in Los Angeles County, it’s not enough to prove that you’re 21 or older. You also need to prove that you have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

On Tuesday night, Little Joy’s Bar Hopper near Dodger Stadium said it would approve a bar requesting vaccination proof for admission.

“I’m not going to teach them how to live, but if they don’t want to be vaccinated, they don’t have to come here,” said a Los Angeles-based patron. S. “They don’t have to come to these bars that need it. It’s their job, they can do whatever they want, and they vaccinate if they want to hang out. You should receive it. “

Little Joy is just one of many bars in Los Angeles County that currently requires vaccination certification. More bars in the county have posted posts on Instagram declaring new requirements, and many patrons who have spoken to sister station KABC-TV agree with this policy.

“With Delta variants out there, I think it’s probably better for young people like us to go out to be vaccinated to prevent their spread and hopefully prevent further adaptation of the virus,” Jack said. Said Bergon.

The more contagious delta variant of Covid-19 now accounts for 83% of the sample sequenced in the United States, said Dr. Rochelle Walensky of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday.

According to the CDC, highly contagious delta mutants currently account for 83% of COVID cases in the United States.

Cities like London have made a move to require that all bar patrons have to show evidence of the vaccine in order to enter. So far, individual companies in LA County are doing the same.

“In our demographics, many people in their early to mid-twenties, late twenties, and early thirties are out, at risk, and at risk to themselves,” Weston said. I will. Masset. “And if they choose not to be vaccinated, it’s entirely their own decision, but it also puts themselves at risk and others at risk.”

While some Bergores respect the decision not to vaccinate, they say they should not try to mix among vaccinated people.

A customer calling himself Jeremy S said, “I’m fine with that.” They are likely to spread the disease and will not come out. “

Health experts say the delta variant is more infectious than any other variant identified so far. “The Delta Variant should be considered the 2020 version of the steroid Covid-19,” Andy Slavit, a former senior adviser to Joe Biden’s Covid Response team, told CNN last week.
