Wichita, KSN—I love food, this festival is for you. The Crave Culinary Festival begins on September 21st and lasts until September 25th. This is a benefit for Mark Arts and wants to connect food with the people of Wichita.
There are workshops throughout the week and a Crave Hoodie Fair on Saturdays. Nearly 20 local chefs and restaurants are on display.
Katharine Elder, owner of Elderslie Farm, said Wichita has a diverse food scene.
“Our community has a really lively scene and we don’t have to bring a lot of people from the beach to make something special. There are a lot of people here,” said the elder. ..
She said it was a tough two years for the restaurant and hospitality industry because of the pandemic. This week is your chance for the chef to return to the community.
“It revitalizes the food scene, everyone took a lot of takeaways over the last year,” said the elder. “We can really be together, be together and celebrate what we think is really wonderful.”
Chef Kiki Roya will give a keynote speech at the Hoodie Fair. Louya is a Top Chef contestant and shares her unique perspective on food, agriculture and entrepreneurship at 11am.
Many other local Wichita culinary experts, including Cargill Food Scientists, speak throughout the afternoon.
Outside, local restaurants and vendors offer samples from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Tickets for the Foodie Fair can be purchased for $ 40. Online here on this website Or at the door. Tickets include all speakers and samples from up to 15 Foodie Fair participants.
