Pittsburgh (KDKA) — Allegheny County called in additional crew members this morning to handle the snow, but they struggled to catch up.
“I think the intensity of this storm is about an inch in an hour,” said Stephen Shanley, director of the Allegheny County Public Works Department. “It takes about an hour or two for the driver to make a shift, so there is some buildup on the road during that time, which gives him time to shift and come back to clear the road.”
The crew will continue to process the road tonight, but the driver will be encouraged to give the plow room to work.
