DA files murder charges against alleged DUI driver in deadly Porterville crash – Fresno, California

Tulare County, California (KFSN)-The District Attorney’s Office in Tulare County has filed a murder charge on Tuesday against 44-year-old Elizabeth Nungalai, who was accused of causing an accident in Porterville that killed two children.

The crash occurred on June 19th on Main Street and Orange Avenue. Both 8 and 10 years old have died. Two other children aged 5 and 13 were seriously injured, and two adults were also injured.

Nungaray was charged with two murders and two manslaughter charges, and was alleged to have caused special physical injuries while driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, Nungalai will be prosecuted on Tuesday afternoon.

If convicted, she faces life imprisonment.
