Watertown, NY (WWTI) — For those interested in working in the dairy industry, the next Career Day is a calendar event.
Jefferson County’s Cornell Cooperative Expansion has announced that it will host Dairy Career Day at Jefferson Community College on November 6th.
This job fair will be attended by representatives from local dairy farms, milk processors and other industries. Attendants will discuss career paths, educational requirements, training, benefits, and how to find a job in the industry.
While attending the fair, individuals can explore different careers in the dairy industry. Careers include nutritionists, herders, calf managers, milk truck drivers, mechanics, quality assurance technicians, robotics technicians, and more.
In addition, a panel discussion will be open to the public, and in the afternoon participants will be able to tour Adams’ Porterdale Farm to see how the dairy farm operates. Shipping options to Porterdale Farms are provided by the Cornell Cooperative Extension.
Pre-registration for the event is required and the registration deadline is November 4th. Registration can be completed on the Cornell Cooperative Extension website in Jefferson County.
This event is open to anyone interested in the dairy industry. This includes high school and college students, transitional military personnel, veterans, and the general public.
