Darlington, South Carolina (WBTW) – Darlington residents gathered on Sunday in hopes of making a difference in the community. The organizers of the new semester event “Stop Violence” said they wanted to make the area safer for children.
“Little men near us were killed here in Darlington,” said organizer Shamika Cottingham. “It’s kind of in my heart that I need to try to put this together for my family and for the community,” Cottingham said of her and the other organizers at the event for more than three months.
