Horry County, South Carolina (WBTW) – South Carolina Highway Patrol has released a dashcam video from a soldier-involved shooting in the Longs area on September 11.

The video begins with a car driver, later identified as Tristan Vereen, being pulled by a state soldier. Vereen shouts at the soldier and refuses to stop. It starts tracking for three and a half minutes.

Vereen’s car interweaves inside and outside the lane and at some point passes through the fields. Eventually, Valeen jumps out of the moving car.

After that, Trooper WB Benton chases Belin. Then, the struggle outside the camera continues, and the trooper’s taser gun is deployed several times.

In a surveillance video released earlier this week, Vereen seemed to grab a taser gun and use it for a trooper … and bit him.

The sound of the drive recorder can be heard between 5:54 and 6:29.

“Please help me! Please …”

“He is biting me! He is biting me!”

* Gunshot *

“Show me your hand! Show me your hand!”

“Hey, he killed me!”

Troopers say Belin was shot once in her chest. He died later.

This is a developing story that News 13 will continue to do. For more information, don’t miss the latest information.
