Former US Senator David Perdue, 71, announced on Monday his intention to run for Governor of Georgia. Perdue served in the US Senate from 2015 to 2021. In the announcement, Purdue said the main reason he ran was to prevent Stacey Abrams from becoming governor. Perdue also claims that the current governor, Brian Kemp, is no longer fit for purpose.
