Las Vegas (KTNV) — The second day of the NASCAR playoffs ended on Saturday night. Fans have begun a tailgate day at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
“We’ve been waiting here for a long time,” said one fan.
“It feels great to be here,” another fan said.
Speedway staff expects more than 100,000 visitors this weekend.
The crowd on Saturday was far from the Pennzoil 400 in March, which was open to only 12,500 fans.
“I wasn’t able to compete in the last two races, so it was great to be back,” said Craig Banschbach.
When the race was over, fans said they were already counting down until next year.
“The car is back on track and I can’t beat it. I’m ready for the next one. It was a great experience.”
