According to police, a DC firefighter who was caring for the victims of the shooting was shot in southwestern Washington on Sunday night.

At around 4:20 pm, police said a man and a woman were shot dead in a 7-Eleven parking lot on the southwest corner of MLK Avenue and South Capitol Street.

Police said that after a while, someone shot more at the scene after attacking a Washington, DC firefighter who was caring for one of the victims of the shooting.

Darcy Spencer of News4 reports that a firefighter had a scratch on his leg. He was taken to the hospital and police said he was expected to be okay.

Both men and women shot are conscious and breathing, with non-life-threatening injuries.
