DC Public Schools require students, staff and visitors to have face masks and maintain social distance requirements for the next grade.
DCPS states that the school will reopen for face-to-face learning on August 30th.
“We expect and expect the overwhelming majority of DCPS students to return to full-time face-to-face learning in the fall,” said the district.
Masks are required within the building and social distance will continue to be implemented wherever possible.
Most students eat in the school cafeteria while at a social distance. However, kindergarten and kindergarten children eat in the classroom.
Students and staff undergo daily medical examinations, but temperature is not measured at school. Personal protective equipment will be provided.
Schools also try to limit contact between different cohorts of students.
At the end of this summer, family and community members will roam the school to see improved safety, including a state-of-the-art air filtration system with “state-of-the-art” HEPA filters.
