OMAHA, Nebraska (KMTV) — The Douglas County Health Department (DCHD) announced Friday that there are four new suspected monkeypox cases under investigation.

The two most recent cases are men under the age of 50.

Contact tracing has begun, according to the health department. DCHD does not publish additional details about these individuals in order to protect their privacy.

These new cases bring the number of suspected monkeypox cases to eight in Douglas County.

Vaccine supply for DCHD is still very limited and will only be approved for individuals at highest risk.
