DC’s Capital Long Drive Classic to be broadcast on the Golf Channel in December – Washington, District of Columbia

Capital Long Drive Classic invited four male and four female long drive artists to the contest on October 24th. It will be screened on the Golf Channel at 11:00 am on December 17th and at 5:00 pm on December 20th.

Nestled in West Potomac Park between the Jefferson and Martin Luther King Jr. monuments along the Tidal Basin, the sportsfield is usually full of people participating in recreational activities such as softball and volleyball.

However, due to the coronavirus pandemic this year, they were eerily empty except for the golf event for television in October.

Capital Long Drive Classic invited four male and four female long drive experts to this kind of first golf event on October 24th, adjacent to the National Mall.

Less than a month after playing, golf fans waiting to see the event can learn more about the broadcast.

It will appear on the Golf Channel at 11:00 am on December 17th and at 5:00 pm on December 20th. Organized by local sportscaster Chick Hernandez and long-drive rival Troy Marines.

Gregory Odel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Event DC, said: “We look forward to hosting this event annually in the heart of the district, focusing not only on the DC region as a golf destination, but also on local participating athletes and a passionate youth community.

The event was hosted by Event DC and included the My Brothers Birdies Youth Clinic at the East Potomac Park Golf Course. Nonprofits introduce golf to children who may be able to learn and watch sports.
