Santa Fe, New Mexico — Officials said a woman was killed and a man injured on Thursday after being shot by firearms on a movie set starring Alec Baldwin on the outskirts of Santa Fe.

According to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, a 42-year-old woman was airlifted to a hospital where she died, and a 42-year-old man was receiving emergency medical care at another hospital.

Authorities did not identify the two who were reportedly crew members rather than actors.

The production of the Western movie “Last” directed by Joel Sousa, produced and starred by Alec Baldwin, has been discontinued.

A Baldwin spokesman said there was an accident on the set, including a misfire of a prop gun with a blank.

Santa Fe New Mexico reported that Baldwin was seen weeping outside the sheriff’s office on Thursday, but attempts to get his comments failed.

Sheriff spokesman Juan Rios told the Albuquerque Journal, “According to investigators, the scene was shot using prop firearms during discharge.” “Detectives are investigating what kind of projectile was fired.”

According to Rios, lawmakers responded to a movie set at Bonanza Creek Ranch around 2 pm after receiving a 911 call from a person shot on the set.

According to a news release from the New Mexico Film Office, filming of “Rust” was scheduled to continue until early November.

According to the website of the Internet movie database, the movie is about a 13-year-old boy left to protect himself and his brother after his parents died in Kansas in the 1880s. The teen escapes with his long-distance grandfather (played by Baldwin) after the boy is hanged for the accidental killing of a local rancher.
